Resort Information

Located in the south-eastern Caribbean just north of Trinidad and Venezuela, the small nation of Grenada is made up of three islands: Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

Grenada is the largest of the three, though still a mere 21 miles long by 12 miles wide. The island consists of over 40 beautiful beaches, coastal mangroves, mountainous rainforersts and dry lowlands. One sixth of Grenada's landmass is preserved as parks and natural wildlife sanctuaries and the air is full of the spicy scent of locally grown nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves. As well as the diving there is much to do above water, making it an ideal destination for divers and non-divers alike.

A small resort with only 26 rooms, the True Blue Bay Resort offers comfortable accommodation in a tropical garden setting with most dive sites only a short boat trip away.

Diving

There are dive sites to suit both novices and the more experienced diver, with some deep wrecks and strong currents. The well-known wreck of the Bianca C, a 600ft cruise ship lies in deep water making it an ideal site for the more experienced diver, with some fantastic photographic opportunities especially at the bow. The reefs are relatively untouched due to the small numbers of divers that have visited Grenada and most have an array of soft and hard corals, numerous creole wrasse, jacks and barracuda, along with morays, lobsters and nurse sharks.

There are three dive sites on Grenada, with one located on the jetty at the True Blue Bay Resort. As a PADI 5 star Gold Palm resort, it offers a wide range of PADI, SDI, and TDI courses. The diving day offers two tank morning dives and an afternoon dive on request. Whole day trips to the off-shore islands such as Isle de Rhonde are available on request. Scubapro equipment is available for rental and Nitrox is available at a supplement.
