Resort Information
Stretching some 1,300km to the east of Bali, the remote Nusa Tenggara islands lie just a few degrees south of the equator.
Only 42 of the 550 islands in the group are inhabited and the customs and culture of the people are as diverse as the islands themselves. Komodo is home to the extraordinary Komodo dragon, a giant carnivorous lizard that is probably the closest thing to a dinosaur living today!
It will be many years before even the most cursory exploration has been carried out of the thousands of kilometres of coral reefs in this region, and many surprises no doubt remain in store. This is the frontier of the diving world and you will often be several days away from civilisation. Those who make the journey will be more than content with the rewards.
The boat used for this programme is traditional Indonesian style. It has recently been refurbished to include three air conditioned cabins with en suite facilities.
The boat is clean and well made and constructed out of a local hard wood. It is not a deluxe cruise boat but is comfortable and appropriate to the region. The crew are very experienced and friendly.
