Resort Information

Be among the lucky few able to encounter the superb diving around the much-coveted Cocos Islands.

Located some 375 miles off the western coast of Costa Rica, Cocos Island offers exhilerating diving for the more experienced diver and truly is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The island itself is volcanic in origin and is, therefore, mountainous. Dense jungle covers the land and the regular rains create numerous waterfalls, rivers and ponds.

The Okeanos Aggressor, a former ocean-going private yacht, is a 110ft all-steel vessel providing 21 guests ultimate comfort and space for cruising and diving. The large dive deck has an individual dive station for each diver with a locker for gear storage, a large three-tier camera table, charging station and rinse tank. An E-6 film-processing lab is on-board with camera rental available.

Diving

Five days diving is included in the package price, with tanks, weights and belts. Most dives are between 15-30m so a limit of four dives per day, including night dives, is enforced. Night dives are scheduled at the discretion of the dive master since sharks are so plentiful in the area.

Due to the areas ruggedness and and strong currents, the diving tends to be difficult and the majority of dive sites are reached by dinghy. This has advantages, but can prove more physically challenging for some.

The area is teeming with large pelagics, including the schools of scalloped hammerheads and whitetip reef sharks. Also abundant are schools of tuna, jack and snapper. Whale sharks and dolphins are also frequently sighted.
