Located 60 miles north-west of Phuket the Similan Islands offer excellent diving, spectacular scenery and some of the most varied marine environments found in south-east Asia.
The MV Mermaid II was built in May 2000 with the diver in mind and caters to their every need. Capable of carrying up to 16 divers, accommodation is in 8 twin, air conditioned cabins with en-suite bathrooms. Facilities include an air-conditioned saloon with TV, stereo and video, a spacious dive deck and platform, and a large sun deck.

Diving
A mass of disordered granite boulders that tumble into the sea to form a series of tunnels, swim throughs, caves and canyons. Below the surface, soft corals and seafans of every form and colour adorn the rocks, while schools of four-line snapper, surgeonfish and jacks feed along the fringing reef.
Richelieu Rock, renowned as one of Thailand's best dive sites and among the world's top listed locations for sighting whale sharks, is a wall dive around the main outcrop.
Nitrox can be mixed on the MV Mermaid II and equipment is available to hire.
The Andaman Sea is sheltered from the northeast monsoon so diving is at its best from November to April. From May to October the southwest monsoon makes diving this area almost impossible.
Itinerary
Thailand Liveaboard
Day 1. Fly form London Heathrow to Phuket via Singapore.
Day 2. Arrive Phuket and transfer to your hotel for a two night stay.
Day 3. At leisure.
Day 4. Transfer to the MV Mermaid II and begin your cruise to the Similan Islands.
Days 5-7. 3½ days diving around the Similan and Surin Islands, including Richelieu Rock with a total of 11 day dives and three night dives.
Day 8. Continue to the more southern islands via Phuket.
Days 9-10. Two days diving around Hin Daeng and Hin Muang with a total of six day dives and two night dives.
Day 11. Cruise back to Phuket and transfer to your hotel in Phuket for one night.
Day 12. Join your late evening flight to London Heathrow via Singapore.
Day 13. Arrive London Heathrow early morning.
